PackView notes ============== CAUTION: - PackView is unfinished and it is unstable. - I suggest using NT-based Windows(NT,2000,XP) or/and backing-up your work. - Any data extracted from files are copyrighted by they authors!!! Do not steal their work! COMMENTS: - PackView was written to provide same user interface to different packed files/archives, like: multi-image file formats (ICO (Windows Icon), Simutrans PAKs,...) PC game data files ... - I also planned to make editing posssible, but I have never done it, because of lack of good solution, how to do it. - So PackView can only show contents of such files... PLUGINS: - ico.dll Windows icon file format (supports WinXP icons with alpha chanel) - bmp.dll Windows bitmap file format (supports WinXP bitmaps with alpha chanel) - hworldpak.dll H-World PAK file - 64*64 version - hworld128pak.dll H-World PAK file - 128*128 version (AFAIK can also open 64*64 version) - simupak.dll Newest OLD Simutrans PAK file - you shouldn't need it anymore - simuobjpak.dll SimuObject files (v0.1.1, V0.1.2)- Shows innerfile tree exactly as it is in file; - NEW: extracted list of all images. Recognizes IMG and TEXT nodes. - FIX: Fixed memory problems in unloading code KNOWN ISSUES: - Hangs, when it tries to open corrupted file - Hangs, when it tries to open 128*128 H-World PAK with 64*64 plugin (internaly same as above, but file is not corrupted) - Images in SimuObject files with special color uses special indexes are not supported - these pixels looks "black" - You can use this "feature" to look for not wanted special colored pixels ;) INSTALATION: - Dowload PackView.exe - Make subfolder named "dlls" in folder with PackView.exe - Download needed plugins and put them in "dlls" subfolder UNINSTALATION: - Delete PackView.exe and "dlls" subdirectory - If you want, you can manualy remove whole tree in registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Zarevak\PackView MDI BUG REPORTS & COMMENTS: - I said, it is unfinished! - send me email: packview@zarevak.net EOF: - Written by Ondrej Zarevucky, Feb 2003 - Updated by Ondrej Zarevucky, Aug 2003 - Updated by Ondrej Zarevucky, Feb 2004
